Dubai Inaugurated its metro network in September 2009 becoming the first urban metro network to run in the Gulf’s Arab States. In May 2007, the 49 Km purple line received approval, moving ahead of another future projection.

In April 2008, the RTA announced that the development of the Yellow Line, a light rail operation, would be carried out by a consortium including Serco and Alstom.

Dubai Metro Pass

Dubai Metro Passes are used for traveling in Metro, Passes are available and can be added/ charged to Nol Cards. They allow unlimited travel on the Metro, Buses, Dubai Tram Etc.

Holders of red tickets can add a standard 1 day pass for 20 AED, The cost of a 1 day pass for travel in Gold Class Carriages is 40 AED. The 1 day ticket allows holders to travel in all zones by any method of transport. More 1 day passes can be added if and when required.

Silver Card Holders can add a 7 day all zones for 110 AED. Blue card holders can purchase 7, 30, 90 and 365 day passes. Price for all zones are 7 Days- 100 AED, 30 Days- 350 AED, 90 Days- 830AED, 365Days- 2,670 AED.

Resident students, seniors, and the disabled enjoy a 50 percent discount on blue card passes. Discounted passes allowing travel in one or two zones are also available.

Dubai Metro Timings 2021

Dubai Metro Operating Timings:

Red Line: Saturday to Wednesday from 5AM to until Midnight, On Thursday from 5AM until 1AM and on Fridays From 10AM to 1AM

Green Line: Saturday to Wednesday 5:30AM to until midnight, On Thursdays from 5:30AM to 1AM and on Fridays from 10AM to 1AM

As you have seen there are two metro lines. One is Red Line and the other is Green Line.

The Red Line: Al Rashidiya- UAE Exchange, Total Length is 52.1Kms, and it has 29 Stops or stations and they are: Al Rashidiya, Emirates Dubai International Terminal 3, Dubai International Terminal 1, GGICO, Deira City Center, Al Rigga, Union, Burjuman, ADCB, Al Jafaliya, World Trade Center, Emirates Towers, Financial Center, Burj Khalifa, Business BayNoor Bank FAB, Dubai Internet City Nakheel, Dubai Marina DMCC, Nakheel Harbour and Tower Ibn, Battuta Energy, Danube, Jebal Ali

The Green Line: Etisalat-Creek, Total Length is 22.5Kms and there are 20 Stops or stations and they are Etisalat, Al Qusais, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Al Nahda Stadium, Al Qiyadah, Abu Hail, Abu Baker, Al Siddique, Union, Baniyas Square, Palm Diera, Al Ras, Al Ghubaiba, Al Fahidi, Burjuman, Oud Metha, Dubai Healthcare City, Al Jaddaf Creek

Yes, Parking is free for Metro Users, If you don’t the Metro then you will be charged for using the station car parks.  Rashidiya & Etisalat metro station and one near Jebel Ali are the Metro Stations with Free parking.
